Tom's Biography
Tom Bilella is the founder and director of the Nutrition Treatment
Center located in Red Bank, NJ. He specializes in fatigue, anxiety,
depression, weight loss, chronic illness and other ailments that have a
nutritional basis for their development and progression. He is the
personal consultant to numerous professional athletes who seek his
advice for peak performance and optimal health. Tom holds a Masters
degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport and has
received his post-graduate degree in Chiropractic, graduating cum
laude. Tom attained titles as a Certified Nutritional Specialist
(C.N.S.), Certified Clinical Nutritionist (C.C.N.) and is also a
Diplomat of the American Clinical Board of Nutrition.
Credentials
C.C.N. Certified Clinical Nutritionist
Requires passing of a written examination assessing advanced knowledge of nutritional services and practice.
C.N.S. Certified Nutrition Specialist
Requires the passing of an examination. Pre-requisites for
sitting for this examination include a Masters Degree and between one
and four thousand hours of clinical nutrition practice.
D.C. Doctor of Chiropractic
Requires the completion of a premedical education, attendance in a
recognized accredited chiropractic school (equivalent of four years),
and passing of all national and state examinations and residency.
M.S. Master of Science (in Nutrition)
Requires attendance and passing of all examinations in an accredited college beyond a Bachelors Degree (B.S.)
D.A.C.B.N. Diplomat in the Clinical Board of Nutrition
A certification for those professional who have completed a
two-year post nutrition, clinical nutrition and nutritional
biochemistry.
Tom lectures internationally on health, nutrition, anti-aging and
fitness. He has been a featured speaker at the first Society of Weight
Training Injury Specialist (SWIS) symposium. Tom has written for and
been featured in numerous issues of Muscle Media magazine as well as numerous other health and fitness publications.
Winning the overall title in the light heavy weight division of the
1995 N.P.C. Natural New Jersey Bodybuilding Championship, Tom was
victorious in his first and only bodybuilding competition. Tom's
amazing physique transformation, knowledge and industry status caught
the attention of Bill Phillips, renowned fitness authority and author
of Body for Life. Tom can be seen in the highly acclaimed Bill Phillips documentary Body of Work.
Tom's passions include educating students about health and fitness. He
stresses the importance of goal setting, perseverance and nutrition as
a way to enhance peak performance in all areas of life. A staunch
anti-drug messenger, Tom warns of the dangers of substance abuse. Tom
is also a co-founder of F.A.S.S.T. Camp (Focused Athletic Sport
Specific Training), a camp dedicated to helping young athletes reach
their potential on and off the field.
Tom's highly spirited approach to nutritional medicine has helped many
shed unhealthy body fat, reduce the effects of premature aging,
optimize genetic potential, enrich their careers and reach peak
